ESSAY and SPEECH classes will now be publishing a book together as a class that will be sold on amazon. become an author!

Write your own article, story or part of the book. Get it edited, revised, and perfected.

Work with the class to develop a theme.
Each one will be in charge of their part.

Beginner-level students will create original picture books in Chinese that showcase vocabulary words centered around a theme of their choice. These books will combine visuals, characters, pinyin, and optionally simple sentences or phrases. The number of vocabulary words is flexible, students may incorporate anywhere from 20 to 50+ words depending on their interest, topic, and motivation.

The class will begin by exploring possible themes, such as Animals, Food, My Daily Life, Fantasy Creatures, or Dream Vacation. Each student will choose a theme they’re excited about and begin building a personal word bank, which will form the foundation of their book.

Throughout the course, students will learn new vocabulary, reinforce existing words, and practice character writing and pronunciation. Each page of their book will feature one or more vocabulary words, an illustration, and supporting text, such as pinyin, labels, or a simple sentence.

As the weeks progress, students will draft, revise, and polish their books using both creative and language skills. In the final weeks, they will assemble a digital version of their book and present it during a celebratory virtual book launch, reading aloud to classmates and showcasing their progress.

We do the prep on finding the right terms to teach, highlight idioms, create vocabulary, etc. while you relax!
