八卦新聞 is an engaging, discussion-based Chinese class designed for intermediate and advanced learners who want to move beyond textbooks and into authentic, everyday language. Each week, students explore trending news, social media, pop culture, technology, science, sports, and interesting stories from the Chinese-speaking world.

Expect 50 minutes of fast-paced, full-immersion Chinese where every lesson is packed with conversation, trending topics, and interactive activities. Students expand their vocabulary, strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and critical thinking skills, while exploring authentic news, pop culture, and social media from the Chinese-speaking world.

Through discussions, debates, games, and collaborative challenges, learners build confidence, improve fluency, and develop the ability to communicate naturally, all in a fun, engaging, and academically rigorous environment.

Move beyond textbook conversations and experience authentic Chinese through current events, social media, pop culture, and trending topics. Each lesson introduces useful vocabulary, modern expressions, idioms, and internet slang that native speakers use every day. Students gain the confidence to understand real articles, videos, and conversations while building practical language skills they can use outside the classroom.

Every 50-minute lesson is conducted in full immersion, giving students countless opportunities to listen, think, and respond in Chinese. Through guided discussions, debates, role-playing, and collaborative activities, learners practice expressing opinions, asking thoughtful questions, and communicating naturally. Our supportive environment encourages students to take risks, develop fluency, and become confident speakers.

Students don't just read the news, they analyze it. By comparing viewpoints, identifying key ideas, summarizing articles, and discussing current events, learners develop higher-level reading comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills. This inquiry-based approach helps students become more thoughtful readers and articulate speakers while strengthening their overall academic abilities.
