Our curriculum draws from a private library of over 20,000 books, making us true experts in children’s Mandarin literature. History texts are carefully selected to be fun and engaging as well as highly academic. We may use a mixture of chapter books, magazines, news, history textbooks, as well as comics to introduce history topics.

History is one of the hardest topics to learn in Chinese and with our expert teachers, hard topics become easy. Hard text becomes comprehensive. Students grow to learn history through stories. As stories unfold, students pause to unpack new terms, images, and ideas. They discuss meanings, connect concepts to their own experiences, and learn how native speakers express themselves.

History texts are full of idioms and proverbs that are usually very hard to understand. With our expert instruction, students will easily learn the idioms proverbs.

We read and teach fully in Traditional Chinese, with full support for Simplified Chinese, especially when children write. All teachers are trained in both systems. For history class, there may be some writing of jotting down notes and terms or doing some worksheets. However, teachers are able to read and recognize in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
