In this popular course, students enjoy fun stories while learning 8–10 Chinese characters per lesson in both traditional and simplified forms. Each session also includes hands-on activities like art, origami, and clay to boost motor skills and spark creativity. We never repeat material so you can register this even if you've taken it before. All new projects, all new material.

New words will be learned each week as students engage in fun and interactive activities that help reinforce their language skills.

Students compose sentences, craft short responses, and participate in comprehension conversations that build confidence and fluency.

To support active learning, students participate in hands-on arts and crafts during class. Movement and creativity are powerful learning tools, studies consistently show that when children move while they learn, their retention and comprehension increase significantly.

Our arts and crafts align directly with the stories or vocabulary students are studying. Depending on the lesson, students may:

Draw characters or scenes from the text
Create simple clay figures inspired by the story
Fold origami to strengthen 3D visualization, sequencing skills, and fine motor development
Complete themed mini-projects that reinforce new vocabulary, radicals, or idioms

These activities help students process language in multiple modalities: visual, tactile, kinesthetic. This makes Mandarin feel alive and memorable. It’s joyful, meaningful, and cognitively powerful, all at the same time.
