ESSAY and SPEECH classes will now be publishing a book together as a class that will be sold on amazon. become an author!

Write your own article, story or part of the book. Get it edited, revised, and perfected.

Work with the class to develop a theme.
Each one will be in charge of their part.

Middle-level students will create original short storybooks in Chinese, combining short paragraphs with engaging illustrations. The goal is for each student to write and illustrate a complete, illustrated story, which will be compiled into a class book.

At the start of the course, students will explore different story structures, characters, and simple plotlines in Chinese. They will brainstorm creative ideas and build vocabulary to support their storytelling. Stories can be based on real-life experiences, fictional adventures, cultural tales, or fantasy worlds all guided by a shared class theme such as Friendship, Discovery, Magic, or School Life.

Over the weeks, students will go through a scaffolded writing process: planning, drafting, revising, and illustrating their stories. Emphasis will be placed on writing in complete sentences and short paragraphs, using expressive vocabulary and accurate characters.

In the final weeks, students will format their stories into digital storybooks with cover pages, titles, and artwork, and share them in a celebratory read-aloud and publication showcase.

We do the prep on finding the right terms to teach, highlight idioms, create vocabulary, etc. while you relax!
