Shared Reading in all Topics!

Monday – STEAM
Students learn relevant science and STEM terms they regularly encounter at school. Now they’ll be able to explain these concepts confidently in Chinese, building both academic language and real-world communication skills.

Tuesday – Comics

We explore comics to strengthen character recognition, introduce cultural elements, and teach idioms and high-interest phrases in a fun, visually engaging format.

Wednesday – Literature

Students dive into bestselling Chinese novels and chapter books to build stronger sentence structure, deepen comprehension, and develop longer reading stamina. This is where students fall in love with stories.

Thursday – Essay & Speech

Students practice writing, essays, and structured self-expression. Through presentations, personal stories, and arguments, they learn to communicate clearly and confidently in Mandarin.

Weekend – Foundations
Students practice writing vocabulary. It's writing intensive and if your goal is to know how to write and read, this add on is a must and integral part of learning. It also helps you memorize characters better.

Across all days, our teachers guide students using beautiful, bestselling children’s literature carefully curated from Asia. With a private library of over 20,000 books, we are true experts in selecting the highest-quality Mandarin literature to inspire, challenge, and engage young learners. With the Ultimate Bundle, you get it all, the entire Chinese learning environment, as if you stepped into Asia without flying overseas. The more hours you put into language, the more you improve but our language courses gives you the friendship, relevancy, and the purpose to learn with other students who are also passionate about learning!

Difference between Weekdays and Weekends?

As stories unfold during the weekdays, students pause to unpack new terms, images, and ideas. They discuss meanings, connect concepts to their own experiences, and learn how native speakers express themselves. Weekends are made to write and type so you learn writing from Zhuyin to stroke order in the beginner classes to hard idioms, vocabulary, and sentence structure in the Upper grades.

Creative Language Use:

Students compose sentences, craft short responses, and participate in comprehension conversations that build confidence and fluency.

Simplified or Traditional?

On weekends, we use our own curated texts, taught primarily in Traditional Chinese with full Simplified Chinese support. Many of our students come from Simplified backgrounds, so our teachers frequently point out the differences between character forms during class.

Rather than confusing learners, this approach actually helps them become proficient in both writing systems. Students naturally learn to recognize and understand both Traditional and Simplified characters, giving them the ability to:

  • Adapt to any environment in Asia

  • Read signs, books, and menus in either system

  • Communicate comfortably no matter where they travel

  • Become flexible, well-rounded Mandarin learners

This dual-exposure model empowers students to thrive globally — not just in one regional version of Chinese.
